Petal Psychiatry consists of a group of dedicated mental health providers, including therapists, psychologists, and prescribing professionals (NPs). Established in 2026 to address the community need for more mental health care professionals in the Monroe County area. Its legacy is built on a nursing model of holistic care. John graduated from SUNY Upstate Medical University in 2023 and has been practicing in outpatient psychiatry since that time. He has a clinical focus on attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), trauma-related disorders, and treatment-resistant depression (TRD), while also caring for a broad range of adult psychiatric conditions. He is experienced in managing complex presentations and takes a flexible, individualized approach to treatment.
He is known for a thoughtful, patient-centered style of care that blends evidence-based psychopharmacology with an appreciation for therapeutic approaches beyond medication management. He is particularly interested in helping patients who have not had success with traditional treatment pathways and remains engaged in emerging developments in psychiatric care to better support outcomes.
In addition to his clinical practice, John has served as a preceptor for physician assistant and psychology students from training programs across New York, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. He values teaching and mentorship and views working with trainees as an important way to contribute to the field and support the next generation of clinicians.
